If D’Onofrio does get his wish to see Cox play Daredevil in the MCU, he should be even more excited about that decision than fans. The decision to bring Cox back as Matt Murdock would increase the chances of D’Onofrio returning as Kingpin too.
Fans have wanted to see both of them in the MCU movies for some time now, and it would be strange for Marvel Studios to bring Cox’s Daredevil back and not do the same for D’Onofrio’s Kingpin. Once Marvel Studios can begin making plans for Daredevil’s MCU future, it might not be too long before we learn whether or not Cox will continue playing him.
NEWS:The actor recently spoke to Comicbook and discussed the possible future of Kingpin and Daredevil in the MCU. In D’Onofrio’s mind, there is no one else who should play Daredevil in an MCU besides Cox.
“The obvious one, which is Daredevil, I still believe in Charlie Cox as Daredevil. And I think that if they do a Daredevil film or have a Daredevil in one of their films, I only hope that it’s Charlie, because I believe in him as Daredevil, I loved working with that guy.”
Unfortunately, Daredevil was canceled in 2018 after three seasons. Some have continued to hope that Cox will play the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen again, and this desire is shared by co-star Vincent D’Onofrio.
