Letitia Wright Addresses Filming Black Panther 2 Without Chadwick Boseman

It is unsurprising that, not even two months after Chadwick Boseman’s untimely death, the studios and actors are not thinking about the sequel but still mourning the actor and friend. At this time, Black Panther 2 is still scheduled to release in 2022 alongside Captain Marvel 2; it still feels wrong to speculate about what Disney and Marvel Studios plan to do without Chadwick Boseman as T’Challa.

In an interview with Net-A-Porter (via ComicBookMovie), Letitia Wright was asked about Black Panther 2 without Chadwick Boseman, saying that “We’re just still mourning Chad, so it’s not something I even want to think about.” Wright continues and emphasizes that now isn’t the time to think about things like that while still grieving for the actor.

The thought of doing it without him is kinda strange. We’re just grieving at the moment, so it’s trying to find the light in the midst of it.”

Disney sources have already said that the focus is on mourning Chadwick Boseman rather than making a Black Panther sequel. Considering Letitia Wright’s raw reaction to being asked about such a topic, it is clear that she is still not yet comfortable about entering production for a sequel without her former co-star.
