Mark Hamill first began his career with Lucasfilm in the very first Star Wars movie, 1977’s Episode IV: A New Hope. He starred in all three movies of the original trilogy before playing a supporting role in the sequel trilogy.
In a new post on Twitter, Luke Skywalker actor Mark Hamill shared a picture of his cameo from the Season 2 finale of The Mandalorian while expressing his appreciation to be suiting up again as Skywalker. saying:
“Sometimes the greatest gifts are the most unexpected and something you never realized you wanted until it was given.”

Luke’s story appeared to have ended upon his role as a Force Ghost in 2019’s Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker after training Rey in the ways of the Force. This made his appearance in The Mandalorian that much more surprising upon its arrival. Most impressively, Hamill’s on-set appearance was kept a secret through the entire run of production, which Hamill described as “nothing less than a miracle” considering how vigilant spoiler-seekers are in this day and age.
