In addition to their chemistry on screen, interviews and behind-the-scenes footage has shown how the cast truly got along in the creation of these films; they were friends behind the camera as well as in front of it. Having spent so much time together before the saga to an end was understandably emotional.
In an interview with PEOPLE, Daisy Ridley discussed how emotional the end of filming was for her saying, “When we wrapped [The Rise of Skywalker] I wept all day. I felt like I was going to pop a vein because I was crying so much.”
Unlike most films, the cast of Disney’s Sequel Trilogy were together for years filming and promoting The Force Awakens, The Last Jedi, and The Rise of Skywalker. Having that journey finally come to an end wasn’t just the conclusion of the Skywalker Saga, but also a significant chapter in their own lives.
Ridley continued by saying, “Obviously not to say that it was like grieving, but it was grieving something. I’ll always have it, and we’re all bonded by this incredible thing.”
