Godzilla vs. Kong Is Set 5 Years After King of the Monsters

With Godzilla vs. Kong set about five years after the events of King of the Monsters, it looks like the humans will see themselves on the opposite side of the titular monster, as foreshadowed, while potentially exploring more of Godzilla’s backstory. Fans will finally get to find out what’s in store when the blockbuster releases in late March.

Speaking with Collider, producer Alex Garcia summarized the movie’s plot, confirming the film takes place about five years after the events of King of the Monsters.

Garcia also revealed that the movie would see Godzilla acting a bit erratically, attacking cities for seemingly no reason, leading the organization Monarch on a mission into the Hollow Earth through Skull Island to lure the monsters back beneath the surface.
