From casting the characters all the way to interesting story beats, the DCEU has had its fair share of ups and downs over the years. This new reveal from Snyder should add another layer of intrigue about the director’s plan considering the mixed reaction towards Jesse Eisenberg’s portrayal of Lex Luthor.
Zack Snyder recently spoke with MTV News to promote the premiere of Justice League on HBO Max, and one of the topics that was discussed was past rumors about Adam Driver’s involvement as Nightwing in the DCEU.
When asked if the Star Wars actor was ever in talks about joining the franchise as Dick Grayson, Snyder revealed that he did “talk” to Adam about a role, but the director pointed out that it wasn’t for Nightwing.
Back in 2014, The Hollywood Reporter shared that Driver was approached for the role of Lex Luthor, but there was a “conflict.” It’s reasonable to assume that the actor was gearing up to play Kylo Ren of the Skywalker Saga during that time.
In an alternate world, Adam Driver could’ve been featured as the ultimate nemesis of Superman, and it would have been interesting to find out how the actor’s performance would fare against Henry Cavill and Ben Affleck’s DC heroes.
